Story Presentation

Purpose

  • Learn to organize a presentation using a storyboard.
  • Learn to import sounds into a presentation.
  • Learn to create a more advanced Appleworks presentation.
  • Present a story in an interesting and creative way.

To Do

  • Find a short story, folk tale, nursery rhyme, or poem from the Media Center to use in a presentation. You could also write one yourself.
  • Create a storyboard. (Click on link to download a storyboard and print it or get a copy from the folder.) The storyboard should show simple drawings of what will be on each slide with the text of the slide written below the picture. Think through order and key scenes. Get your storyboard signed by Mr. Vos before continuing.

Timeline

  • 5 days.

Requirements:

  • Title slide: story title and your name as creator of the slide show.
  • Body slides: at least 5 slides: tell story bit by bit on multiple slides. Each slide must have at least:
    • One graphic - photo, clip art, or drawings. Use links below to find some images or clipart in Appleworks. At least one image needs to be drawn using the drawing tools.
    • Text - no more than 6 words on a slide (at least 36 point) use same font throughout presentation.
    • Appropriate background.
    • Include a sound on at least one slide.
    • Pick at least one transition but no more than three appropriate transitions.
    • Optional:
      • Cell Animation
      • More sounds
      • Movies
  • Credits Slide: title of book that story came from, and author. Also credit any graphics, sounds, etc., found on the internet. Include bibliographic information.

Evaluation:

Final Steps:

  • Name the document "Story Presentation"
  • Save a copy in your "Public" folder and save a copy in your "Tech 6" folder.
  • Talk to Mr. Vos for next step.
