WEB PAGE BASICS
- Web pages are non-linear.
- Make it easy to get from one part of the site to another.
- Use menus so learners can get to any other page from the
page they are on.
- Each page should stand-alone. Pages can and will be
accessed in any order you can imagine.
- Pages should be attractive and consistent.
- Pages should not have too much text and /or two many
graphics. Graphics need to be useful or they add to
download time.
- It is better to add a page than to have too much information.
Determine what is important information and trash the rest.
- Use a consistent design theme for main sections. Themes
help learners see how the site works without overload.
- All unit pages should operate the same way.
- Make instructions clear. Assume learners won't read every
page.
- Provide contact information e-mail link.
