Sample finished Budget
Purpose:
- Learn to organize data in a spreadsheet.
- Learn to enter formulas in a spreadsheet.
- Learn to create a bar graph, label the graph, and change the fill colors.
To Do:
- Download the following document: Budget.
Timeline:
- 1 day
Requirements:
- You are working on your own to fill in the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet shows how much "Income" you earn in different categories each month.
- Change Columns B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J to currency.
- Enter formula in column K that totals your income over 9 months in each category.
- In Row 10 enter a category of you choice and fill in the numbers with reasonable and appropriate numbers.
- In Row 12 enter a formula to calculate how much you have earned each month. Fill in that formula for each month.
- Extra Credit is filling a formula in the columns titled "Max" and "% of total."
- Now fill in your "Spending." One rule: spending can not be greater than income. Enter numbers that are reasonable.
- Set up a bar graph using "Total Income" column.
- Proper title for graph.
- Pick color and style of graph.
- Label the x-axis and y-axis.
- Change "Page Set-up" to landscape.
- Adjust spreadsheet data fits on one page and the graph fits on another page for a total of two pages.
- Add a header with your name on it.
- Save spreadsheet in "Spreadsheet" folder as "Budget."
Evaluation:
- Please do the Budget Rubric with a person of the opposite gender.
Final Steps:
- Name the document "Budget"
- Save a copy in your "Public" folder and save a copy in your "Spreadsheets" folder.
- Go to the next project.
