Store Payroll
Sample finished Store Payroll
Purpose:
- Learn to organize data in a spreadsheet.
- Learn to enter formulas in a spreadsheet.
- Practice using Fill Down and Fill Right.
- Learn to create a pie graph, label the graph, and change the fill colors.
To Do:
- Download the following document: Store Payroll
- We will start it together.
Timeline:
- 1 day
Requirements:
- Change the workers names to names of people in class.
- Format numbers in columns "B, J, K, L" to currency by going to "Format:Number" then select "currency."
- Fill in row 3 with the following formulas then use "Calculate:Fill Down" for each column.
- Column I (Reg HR) "= C3+D3+E3+F3+G3"
- Column J (Reg Pay) "=B3*I3"
- Column K (Overtime Pay) "=(B3*2)*H3"
- Column L (Total Pay) "=J3+K3"
- Enter one formula in B12 and then use "Calculate:Fill Right" to enter the rest of the formulas.
- Enter one formula in B13 to find the average of each column. Use the "Average" formula. Then use "Calculate:Fill Right" to enter the rest of the formulas.
- Set up a pie graph using the "Total Pay" stats.
- Copy names then copy Total Pay column.
- Use "Paste Special" to paste in the results to the formula.
- Or you can just retype the numbers you see in the Total Pay column. The choice is yours.
- Proper title for graph, example: "Total Pay."
- Label the pie slices with percentage and label the legend with percentage.
- Adjust fill color or texture of slices..
- Answer the questions at the bottom of the spreadsheet.
- Change "Page Set-up" to landscape.
- Adjust spreadsheet data and graph so it fits on one page.
- Add a header with your name on it.
- Save spreadsheet in "Spreadsheet" folder as "Store Payroll."
Evaluation:
- Please do the Store Payroll Rubric with a person of the opposite gender.
Final Steps:
- Name the document "Store Payroll"
- Save a copy in your "Public" folder and save a copy in your "Spreadsheets" folder.
- Go to the next project.
