Summer Vacation Upon Holland Christian

Another wonderful school year has come to a close and the Holland Christian Community will now enjoy summer vacation.  We wish everyone a safe and exciting break and look forward to seeing the old, and new, faces on August 31, 2009 for the first day of the 2009-2010 school year.

Seniors Finish Bible 4 Podcast Project

Prior to graduation, the seniors in Mr. Rod Brandsen's Bible classes took place in a project entitled Bible 4 Podcast.  The classes have been reading and studying the Bible and trying to apply it to their lives.  The project allowed the students to create a podcast where they read and recite a favorite Bible passage and explain why it is significant to them.  To listen to the podcasts please click here: BIBLE 4 PODCAST

New Turf Playing Surface Installed at the High School

One of the major summer projects around the High School campus was completed early when the brand new playing surface was installed onto the football field.  The new turf playing surface, originally scheduled to be completed by July 15, 2009, was completed even before June ended.  A much softer and newer turf replaced the ten year old surface and the cushion and look is noticeable immediately.  Also highlighting the project is the large HC logo at midfield.  To see pictures of the new playing field please click here: PHOTOS

Pine Ridge's Odyssey of the Mind Finishes Sixth

Pine Ridge Elementary School's Odyssey of the Mind team returned from Iowa with a sixth place finish at the World Championships.  After completing a first place finish at Regionals, the HC team took second at state to advance to the championships where they faced off against teams from all over the world.  Competing in a division with 61 teams, the Pine Ridge team, coached by Sue Lesky, garnered a 6th place finish to end a fabulous run.  Congratulations to the team and coaches on representing Holland Christian with tremendous merit and to all of the hard work all year long!

Athletic Passes Information Released; For Sale on August 27

With another school year approaching so too is another athletic season for the Maroons.  After a record breaking 2008-2009 season, the Holland Christian community has several opportunities to witness another fantastic season for the Maroon and White.  The Athletic Department has announced the 2009-2010 athletic pass information with the first date being August 27, 2009 to purchase the passes.  Anyone interested in purchasing sports passes can do so on August 27 in the High School gym from 12:00-5:00 p.m.  Passes range from $60 for students to $300 for families.  To learn more about the variety of passes, all of the information can be found by clicking on the Athletic Passes Information tab or click here: ATHLETIC PASSES INFORMATION.

Bussing Website & Forms Online

Bus transportation for our students occurs through a number of different venues: West Ottawa Public Schools, Holland Public Schools, Southside Student Transportation, and Zeeland Public Schools.  Each of these school systems have their own registration forms and fees.  Beginning with the 2009/2010 school year, we will be changing the way our HC families register for bussing from their home address.  Each family requesting bus transportation for their children should access the forms for the appropriate transportation department from this website and follow the instructions.  To go to the bussing website please click here: BUSSING
