When a senior applies to a college, the college will consider that student for all institution-based aid and all state and federal aid (information is obtained through FAFSA). The only scholarships your son/daughter must apply for are those sponsored by private organizations. We are making a concerted effort to inform seniors of all available scholarships. Scholarship information is given on the counseling bulletin board in the hall and at Holland Christian's web page. Our web site is updated weekly with incoming scholarship opportunities; check it out!
The FAFSA must be sent to and received by the government by March 1, 2008 for all seniors who would like to be considered for college financial aid.
Seniors who are considering attending a Division I or II University and hope to compete on an athletic team must complete an NCAA application eligibility form. Students can apply on-line at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net. If application is made online, a copy of the completed form must be given to Mrs. Devan Hanson, the counseling secretary, for proof of NCAA registration. It is the student's responsibility to check requirements and make sure his/her senior courses insure eligibility.
Registering with the Selective Service - Men must register with selective service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. For more information go to www.sss.gov.
