What is the purpose of these specifications?
-The yearbook is a professional publication that reaches a large audience: our student body, our community, and beyond. That, along with production costs of over $30,000, requires us to mandate uniform standards for all pictures. In order to assure uniformity we follow standard journalistic guidelines, which helps us represent each person equally.
What is I can’t afford the sitting fee of the picture packages?
-Holland Christian High School will have professional photographers who can take your senior picture on the Student Picture Day. There is no sitting fee and there is no obligation to purchase their pictures. This is an inexpensive and fast way to submit a picture for the yearbook.
What if I decide to take my own pictures with my own camera?
-Any self-taken portraits must follow the guidelines. Please be aware, however, that we reserve the right to refuse and pictures that do not look professional and appropriate for the yearbook.
Should I have my senior pictures taken if I know I am not going to actually graduate this year?
-This is up to you. However, anyone who does not have enough credits at the beginning of 2nd semester will be omitted from the senior section of the yearbook.
What will happen if I do not turn in a senior picture at all?
-We will use you school ID picture! Therefore, if you have not had your senior pictures taken by mid August, make sure that your ID picture looks nice (no t-shirts) in case we have to use it in the senior section.
