This year, HS students can either use the HC provided bag or purchase their own laptop sleeve or backpack with laptop slot. Students were surveyed back in the spring and a large number of them requested being able to store their laptop in their backpack or have a smaller sleeve that would fit in their book bag.
Your child may already have a backpack that has the laptop slot or if you are purchasing a new one this year, you might want to get one that has a laptop slot or pocket. Otherwise, a padded sleeve may be purchased that will then fit in an existing backpack.
When your HS child picks up their laptop on the first day of school, they will need to have their alternate sleeve/backpack with them or they will have use an HC case. Most stores now sell both backpacks with laptop compartments and/or sleeves for the laptop and prices range from $25-45 depending on features or back to school sales.
