We believe the cost of a Christian education should never stop a family from sending their children here. Read on to learn about the different Financial Aid programs available to Holland Christian families.

A Tuition Grant is a need-based grant available to families with demonstrated financial need via an application process. For the 2020-2021 school year, Holland Christian distributed approximately $1 million to families through the Tuition Grant Fund.

The Tuition Grant online application process for the 2021-22 school year begins February 1. The FACTS application is online here. If you have questions, please contact Terry VanDerKolk at tvanderkolk@hollandchristian.org or call (616) 820-2807.

Scholarships are available to racial or ethnic minority parents who are enrolling their children at Holland Christian Schools. These scholarships are based on financial need and are available through an endowment established by donors specifically to encourage ethnic and racial diversity at the school. Applications are available from Terry VanDerKolk in the Administration Office. Please contact Terry at (616) 820-2807 or tvanderkolk@hollandchristian.org for more information.

The Ditto Upscale Resale store was established to provide financial support to Holland Christian and Zeeland Christian families. The store’s net proceeds are granted to families to reduce the cost of tuition. This grant is available to every Holland Christian student regardless of financial need, though parents can choose to opt out and donate their grant to other students. The per student grant amount for the 2020-21 school year is $315.

The Holland Christian Education Foundation is a fund established to reduce the cost of tuition for all families and to provide financial stability for the school. Each year a percentage of the earnings of the Foundation are gifted back to HC families in the form of a Foundation Grant. This grant is available to every Holland Christian student regardless of financial need, though, again, parents can choose to opt out of this grant and donate it to other students. The per student grant amount for the 2020-21 school year is $475.

This year the Foundation and Ditto Grants combined reduce each child’s tuition by almost $800. These grants have already been taken out of the published 2020-2021 tuition rates.

READY FOR SCHOOL provides need-based grants for 3-year-old programs in the greater Holland area. Please contact Ready for School on their website here for additional information.

TRIP is a program in which you can purchase gift cards (online or via a paper order form) through Holland Christian Schools to shop at major food and retail stores. The stores sell the gift cards at a discount. The school then sells the cards at face value to participants and credits their tuition account with the difference. The percentage of credit earned will vary from store to store. Anyone in the community can participate, including HC families, future HC families, grandparents, friends, etc., and designate their TRIP earnings to the account of a presently enrolled family, a future family, or to Holland Christian’s Tuition Grant Fund. There is no cost to participate, but Holland Christian retains a small percentage of your credits to cover the operational expenses of the TRIP program. The cards supplied by TRIP are the stores’ actual gift cards. They are the same as cash; you can buy anything in the store that you would normally buy with cash, check, or credit card. Some stores will allow you to use gift cards to make payments on charge accounts. To see a list of all the stores participating in the TRIP program please visit the Holland Christian TRIP page by clicking here.
