The BOC Board is a support organization composed of parents of Band, Orchestra, and Choir members and any other persons interested in promoting the music program of Holland Christian Schools. The organization raises funds to be used for instruments, equipment, uniforms, and scholarships. Each year, BOC provides Holland Christian students with scholarship opportunities to attend Calvin’s Knollcrest Music Camp, the Interlochen Music Camp, the Blue Lakes Fine Arts Camp and who participate in the Harbor Choral Festival of Music, and to provide financial support for students who wish to take private instrumental lessons. Members of TAP consist of individuals who are dedicated to the promotion and well being of the Theatre Arts and Forensics Programs at Holland Christian High School. TAP primarily seeks to oversee the raising of monies to support various student-run productions throughout the year, both onstage and in technical support. A second function is to encourage students in a variety of ways and provide opportunities for fellowship between parents and students. TAP members participate in one of five committees (hospitality, decorations, fundraising, prayer & support, promotions) to achieve these goals:

  • FORENSICS: Seeks to assist the directors in the management and development of HC Forensics.
  • FUNDRAISING: Seeks to secure funds from various local businesses, community groups and patrons of HC Theatre.
  • HOSPITALITY: Organizes meals and intermission snacks between performances for cast and crew members; encourages fellowship among parents.
  • STUDENT CARE: Organizes various activities to encourage and promote the well-being of students.

Furthermore, TAP helps in the creation and publication of programs for each production, allocates funded monies for the purchase of new equipment, speech tapes, TABi awards, monologue pieces for Forensics, costumes, storage containers, stage production tools, etc., seeks advertisement opportunities and manages financial matters pertaining directly to TAP responsibilities.

If you love theatre and Holland Christian, then TAP is the perfect place for you. There are many opportunities for involvement throughout the year, especially if your son or daughter is involved in one of its productions.

If you are interested in coming alongside HC Theatre and supporting the efforts of those involved in theatre and encouraging its students please contact Elle Nieuwsma at enieuwsma@hollandchristian.org or (616) 820-2905, or contact one of the currant TAP Board members. We love our students and our patrons. Your voice and willing hands are always welcomed.

“I like the community. I have never been to a school where I feel more safe or more loved than Holland Christian.”
