Discovery Nights January 23 and 25

If you are new to our preschool or kindergarten program or know a family considering HC for either program next fall, our Discovery Nights are a great way to learn more! These nights will be held January 23 at South Side or January 25 at Rose Park at 6 pm. Childcare is provided. Both nights will also include a presentation about Spanish Immersion and our vision for the new program. Please help spread the word! Invite your friends and family to the Discovery Nights and share with them your own experience here.

2018-19 Kindergarten Enrollment

We will offer 3 Day+, 5 Day, and 5 Day Spanish Immersion kindergarten classes this fall. Families with children already in Holland Christian Schools prek-12th grade may enroll early beginning February 6 from 7 am – 7 pm. (We will not process registrations submitted prior to February 6 at 7 am.) Early enrollment will close on February 6 at 7 pm and open to the public on February 7 at 7 am. Enroll online at: https://www.hollandchristian.org/admissions/k-12th-grade-application/. Please enroll your child in kindergarten by March 1 in order for us to prepare class lists. Children will need to be 5-years-old by September 1, 2018, to enroll in kindergarten for the 2018-19 school year.

2018-19 Preschool Enrollment

Preschool enrollment opens early for families with children already at Holland Christian Schools prek-12th grade February 13 from 7 am – 7 pm at hollandchristian.org/admissions/preschool-application/. (We will not process applications received prior to February 13 at 7 am.) Early enrollment will close on February 13 at 7 pm and open to the public on February 14 at 7 am. Preschool enrollment requires a $75 deposit. With our 3-year-old, 4-year-old, and Junior Kindergarten morning classes, afternoon enrichment classes, and before and after school care parents can create a fully customized preschool schedule, ranging from part-time to full-time enrollment. Lunch Menu for January

Negative Lunch Account Balances

Our negative lunch balances have run off the track… Food Services would greatly appreciate taking care of negative balance accounts.¬† If you want to see what your child’s account balance is you may go to¬†sendmoneytoschool.com¬†with your child’s Tuition ID #. On this site you may deposit money into your student’s account as well as look at your balances.
We also offer lunch benefits to families who may qualify for free or reduced price lunches.  Go to lunchapp.com and fill out an application.  All applications are confidential and if you currently have a negative balance, we will credit your account.

Music To Your Mouth

Not sure what is for dinner? No problem!!! Come to Chipotle (12365 James Street) on Thursday, January 25¬† from 5:00pm-9:00pm.¬† 50 % of the proceeds will benefit the HCHS Band and Orchestra. The¬†funds raised will be used for the upcoming trip to Florida. While there the students will be participating¬†in educational workshops, and have a special performance at Disney World. Looking for some Donation Items

Spanish Room:¬† Mrs. Klipp-Lopez is wondering if any of our HC families have extra things like couch cushions, large pillows, beanbag chairs, or anything else that kids could sit on in the classroom to make her room ‚Äúcozier‚ÄĚ.¬† Please contact her at hklipplopez@hollandchristian.org to make arrangements.¬† Thank you!!
 Makers Week:  For makers week, coming up February  20 Р23 were are need of the following items ~  plastic water bottles, deli containers, soup cans, pop cans, toilet paper rolls, small styrofoam trays, paper towel rolls, plastic bottle caps, old CDs or DVDs, Marbles/ball bearings, Golf balls (or similar sized balls), Flexible tubing big enough for marbles to fit through, Various sized blocks of wood (no longer than 1 foot), and take apart electronics.  These items can be dropped off in the office!  Thank you!

Ottawa County Food Resources

As you probably know, many families in Ottawa County experience food insecurity this time of year.  We would like to share an online food database created by Ottawa Food, where Ottawa County residents can search for food pantries and free meals.  This database is available in English and Spanish.  Residents can search for food pantries and community meals, either by date or location, by clicking on this link ottawafood.org/findfood.

Total Trek Quest

TTQ registration information is coming home today. TTQ Registration is going ONLINE! Parents, starting January 2 you can register for the Total Trek Quest program ONLINE! This new partnership will allow us to respond faster to your registration questions, will reduce the time it takes to have your son listed on the roster and will give prompt updates on wait lists. We do our very best to keep registration costs low, but in order to accommodate this change and to ensure we are still able to give out scholarships to all who need it, we will be raising the Total Trek Quest Registration fee to $45. You can still stop in to our offices to register your son, as we are working on ensuring kiosk style access to RacePlanner. Look for our info sheets to come home-and if you have any questions, please email Brandon at bmelnyk@arborcircle.org

Free kick Off Event for TTQ at the Lost City, 12350 James St., Holland MI 49424.  Saturday, February 17 from 10AM РNoon.  Free laser tag, mini golf and mini bowling. The whole family is welcome-boys must be accompanied by an adult.
