Report Cards Coming Home today!
2018-19 Kindergarten Enrollment

We will offer 3 Day+, 5 Day, and 5 Day Spanish Immersion kindergarten classes this fall. Families with children already in Holland Christian Schools prek-12th grade may enroll early beginning February 6 from 7 am – 7 pm. (We will not process registrations submitted prior to February 6 at 7 am.) Early enrollment will close on February 6 at 7 pm and open to the public on February 7 at 7 am. Enroll online at: https://www.hollandchristian.org/admissions/k-12th-grade-application/. Please enroll your child in kindergarten by March 1 in order for us to prepare class lists. Children will need to be 5-years-old by September 1, 2018, to enroll in kindergarten for the 2018-19 school year.

2018-19 Preschool Enrollment

Preschool enrollment opens early for families with children already at Holland Christian Schools prek-12th grade February 13 from 7 am – 7 pm at hollandchristian.org/admissions/preschool-application/. (We will not process applications received prior to February 13 at 7 am.) Early enrollment will close on February 13 at 7 pm and open to the public on February 14 at 7 am. Preschool enrollment requires a $75 deposit. With our 3-year-old, 4-year-old, and Junior Kindergarten morning classes, afternoon enrichment classes, and before and after school care parents can create a fully customized preschool schedule, ranging from part-time to full-time enrollment. Looking for some Donation Items

Spanish Room:  Mrs. Klipp-Lopez is wondering if any of our HC families have extra things like couch cushions, large pillows, beanbag chairs, or anything else that kids could sit on in the classroom to make her room “cozier”.  Please contact her at hklipplopez@hollandchristian.org to make arrangements.  Thank you!!
 Makers Week:  For makers week, coming up February  20 – 23 were are need of the following items ~  plastic water bottles, deli containers, soup cans, pop cans, toilet paper rolls, small styrofoam trays, paper towel rolls, plastic bottle caps, old CDs or DVDs, marbles/ball bearings, golf balls (or similar sized balls), flexible tubing big enough for marbles to fit through, various sized blocks of wood (no longer than 1 foot), newspapers, and take apart electronics.  These items can be dropped off in the office!  Thank you!

Sports Physicals, Students moving up to Middle & High School next year

The Athletic Department of Holland Christian Schools is offering students entering grades 7-12 the opportunity to complete a state-required athletic physical. This required physical will allow your student to participate in athletic events throughout the 2018-2019 school year. Note: this exam must be dated after April 15 to be valid. Physicals will be given Tuesday, April 17 from 6:30-9:00 PM at South Washington Family Medicine (Lakeshore Health Partners, 904 Washington Ave., #210, for the nominal fee of $15. For a simple and quick appointment, we will again be using SignupGenius for scheduling appointments online. Please look for the link to be sent in an upcoming blog announcement. 2018-2019 physical forms will be available on our website and in school offices.

Ottawa County Food Resources

As you probably know, many families in Ottawa County experience food insecurity this time of year.  We would like to share an online food database created by Ottawa Food, where Ottawa County residents can search for food pantries and free meals.  This database is available in English and Spanish.  Residents can search for food pantries and community meals, either by date or location, by clicking on this link ottawafood.org/findfood.

Total Trek Quest

TTQ is a fun, high energy after school program designed exclusively for boys in 3rd-5th grade. TTQ incorporates strength and stretching exercises with training for a 5K. Boys in this program will develop positive peer relationships and feel a part of a team while working toward individual goals. Additional practice activities focus on developing a healthy lifestyle, social/relationship skills, how to make healthy choices, and resisting peer pressure.

Don’t miss the Ottawa/Allegan TTQ kickoff on February 17 at the Lost City, 12330 James St, Holland, MI 49424, from 10am-Noon! Free laser tag, mini golf and mini bowling. The whole family is welcome-boys must be accompanied by an adult.

When you are done registering your boy for TTQ, head over to the Tulip Time Run website, and register yourself so you can run with him! Use the code “ttqfamily18” and receive $4 off your registration fee! Registration can be found here.

The spring season of TTQ will start the week of February 26 and will end in May. We had a great first fall season at Pine Ridge and are looking forward to spring!  We should know the practice days of the week VERY soon—and your team is all set with coaches! Baton Twirling Classes

Kinder Dutch Dance

JOIN THE DANCE! BECOME A TULIP TIME KINDER DUTCH DANCER! Tulip Time and Pine Ridge invites all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students to participate in the Kinder Dutch Dance Program at Pine Ridge!
