MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER – JUNE 2019
Dear parents and families,
It is emotional for me to write the last letter to you all. “Preparing a Table” for this year serving the High School students and your Middle School students has been a blessing and an honor.
We hosted the 6th graders in the building yesterday. I think back to when our students came into the building for the first time – lots of questions and wondering what the next two years will look like for them. I have reflected on both grades, each year, getting off the bus after 7th grade camp and seeing all the wonderful memories that were created while in middle school including chapel, classroom learning environments, and athletics.
There is so much growth that happens here! Yesterday, the 7th graders prayed for the 8th graders as they left the Middle School for the last time and I have enjoyed watching these students grow academically and spiritually each and everyday.
We have much to be thankful for to God. Being thankful isn’t just for the Thanksgiving holiday; scripture tells us to be “thankful in everything, in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). The Middle School renovation “ribbon cutting” ceremony took place on Tuesday. We have so much to be thankful for in our upcoming renovation. What an exciting time for these students to see God provide what will be a wonderful school for them in the future. May God continue to raise these students up to be strong and courageous.
Thank you for partnering with HCMS. You have blessed us with your children during the 2018-2019 school year. Welcome to summer 2019 – make it a great one!

Immunization Requirements for rising 7th Graders: Please schedule a call/visit with your primary care physician to discuss any immunization needs for your child. All students MUST be up-to-date on their immunizations BEFORE they start the new school year. Any students without the required immunizations or approved waivers will not be allowed to enter school until they are complete and approved by the State of Michigan. Please see the attached link for an information sheet listing immunization needs.
2019-2020 BOC SCHEDULES
As we plan to build student schedules for the 2019-2020 school year, we will plan to schedule your 7th grade student in their current Band, Orchestra or Choir (BOC) class. If they wish to move to a different music class, please inform us by sending an email to email@example.com, indicating Band, Orchestra or Choir before Friday, June 7. Rising 7th graders should also email the MS office with changes to their choice. As stated before, every student must choose either Band, Orchestra or Choir; no study halls will be offered. Thank you!
