Middle School Newsletter: March 2018
MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER: MARCH 2018
Dear Holland Christian Middle School Parents and Families,
What a fantastic month we had in February! Exploratory week was a huge success. If your child did not already highlight this week for you – please ask them what they participated in. Exploratory week is a great experience to learn something new inside and outside of the classroom.
Just this past week I was able to witness our amazing Band and Orchestra playing at the MSBOA Band Festival. Both Band and Orchestra did an amazing job and I am super proud of our students representing Holland Christian. This goes for our student athletes as well – our 2nd winter sports season is coming to a close. I have been able to come to several sporting events and witness their hard work and dedication outside of the classroom.
We are beginning to close the third academic quarter and looking forward to hosting you this month at our Parent Teacher Conferences. We also will get to see all of our theatre students shine this month in the play – Willy Wonka.
BE THE MATCH.
Date: March 9, 2018 from 5:30-8:00
Location: Rose Park and Pine Ridge School’s Fun Night
As a school body, we are celebrating with Dirk Hollebeek, as he has received a match for a bone marrow transplant. We have decided to partner with the BE THE MATCH bone marrow program and “Pay-It-Forward” by adding donors to the registry that has blessed so many families. We encourage you to consider giving back to someone that may need this life-saving gift just as someone is sacrificing for Dirk Hollebeek.
If you would like to join this matching program, you will need to meet three criteria.
- Age 18-44 2. In general good health 3. Be willing to help anyone with a transplant need.
Want to join this registry: Please come to Rose Park or Pine Ridge schools on Friday night, March 9 from 5:30-8:00. Fill out some consent forms and have a simple swab of the cheek. There is no cost to join and we will have volunteers ready to help you!
Thanks for all you do,
