MS January Newsletter
As we start a new year, I love to reflect on the last year. 2020 had many challenges, but also had so many blessings. The biggest blessing was being able to serve the middle schoolers. They are a delightful bunch who are each gifted differently. As we educate them, we see the different gifts that each student has, and we continue to guide each student to use their gifts for God’s glory. I have witnessed students using their gifts in many unique ways. These ways include giving teachers and other employees notes of encouragement, teaching classmates whether they are in person or doing remote learning, inviting a classmate who is not part of a group to be part of their group, serving the school by taping the virtual BOC concerts, giving groceries for the food pantry at Providence CRC, showing mercy to each other when relationships have been strained, and diligently leading a group called Maroon Activation committee (mission to spread inclusion at HC). As we continue to partner together, let’s keep looking for ways to develop the gifts God has given each of our students.
6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
May God bless you and your family during 2021!

Thank You from the Staff:
Parents: Thank you so much for showing such love and appreciation to our staff this Christmas. We appreciate all you do for us and for sharing your child(ren) with us each and every day. Thank you.
It would be incredibly helpful for your student to come to school each day with a mask (and maybe a backup) and a water bottle. We have had a steady stream of traffic of students who want a cup for water (regular fountains aren’t available) and for a mask (because theirs is broken or they forgot one). Thanks for your help with this.
New Athletic Season Starts in January: Girls Basketball and Boys Swimming/Diving
Our Winter II athletic season is scheduled to start in January. Please stay tuned for more information on start dates. This includes 7th and 8th grade Girls Basketball and 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Boys Swimming and Diving. A bus will leave from the MS and take athletes to practice. If your student would like to participate, you can still sign them up via Final Forms. Please make sure they have a current physical on file. Thanks.
