Rose Park News 2/14/19

Dear Rose Park Family and Friends,

Despite the added snow days this year, we hope you have an enjoyable extended winter weekend with your families. Tomorrow will be a special day devoted to staff development with half of the day committed to growing our staff in their Cultural Quotient work (Diversity school improvement goal) we have begun individually and collectively. We’ll also spend some valuable time honing some building-specific reflection and strategy work on behalf of all of our students’ learning. We are looking forward to a very good day.

Now, may you bless and be blessed this weekend in rest, recreation, and in awe-filled worship. This has been another growth, meaning and joy-filled week at Rose Park, partnering with you and the rest of the staff, equipping young and eager minds, nurturing soft and tender hearts, to transform the world for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Winter Break

Just a reminder, we don’t have school  Friday or  Monday (February 15-18) due to the Winter Break. Our staff will be engaging in some meaningful professional development on Friday, and then enjoying a break on Monday with all of you.

We are busy preparing for another Makers Week at Rose Park! During this special week we spend a couple of hours each day engaging in learning activities that involve extra measures of exploration, creativity, and hands-on activities. We are in need of some supplies for the week and wondering if you can help us. If you have any of these items, please drop them off in the office.  Thank you for your help in making this a great week for all of our learners!

*borrow 2 bowling balls
*borrow 4-5 hair dryers
tape and masking tape (lots of it!)
bubble wrap
paper towel
cotton balls
empty 2-liter bottles
small empty milk cartons
variety of cardboard box lids (must have a rim)
empty TP rolls, paper towel rolls, wrapping paper rolls, any diameter cardboard rolls

Drop Off Reminder

This is a reminder to all parents and drivers to never park and leave your car in the curved drop off drive between 7:30 and 8:20 in the morning. The curved driveway is meant for drop off only at the curb. When cars park on the curb and the driver leaves, it becomes dangerous for others trying to drop their children off, some having to cross from the other side of the driveway. Again, Preschool through 6th grade, please do not park in the drive, but only stop along the curb long enough to drop off your students.

If you wish to get out of your car, please find a spot to park in our parking lot and accompany your students into school.

Since I (Rod) cannot be out there every morning to greet and monitor, I need to ask for and depend upon everyone honoring this request for the safety and protection of all of our precious students at Rose Park. Thank you for your cooperation.
