Rose Park News 5/17/19
Dear Rose Park Family and Friends,
I’m always amazed as the weeks really pick up speed now as we near the end of the school year. The teachers are making great use of every minute giving every opportunity and challenge for students to continue growing through the very last day in the classrooms and on special field trips taking advantage of these warming spring days. These are good days, indeed. In our work and in our play, we seek to build a strong community of learners here at Rose Park and Holland Christian Schools.
As I said, I’m constantly being reminded not to blink or these days pass by all too quickly. I was reminded of this truth so vividly again when we were gathered, all 1500 or so students, staff, and some parents and grandparents for our end of year HCS convocation on Tuesday. I couldn’t help but think and remember back to the first week of school when we gathered in August. Preschoolers suddenly don’t seem so small, scared, and lost. Each grade level visibly has grown physically, and we know from doing life together, they have grown spiritually, socially, and intellectually. What a great time to reflect and thank God for all that he is done in a school year’s worth of time. Don’t blink. They go from preschool to HCHS graduation all too soon. God is good all the time.
Now, may you bless and be blessed this weekend in rest, recreation, and in awe-filled worship. This has been another growth, meaning and joy-filled week at Rose Park, partnering with you and the rest of the staff, equipping young and eager minds, nurturing soft and tender hearts, to transform the world for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Enrollment for 2019-2020 continues

New Athletic Information for 2019-20
Attention current 5th & 6th Grade students who are interested in joining the MS sports teams for the 2019-20 school year! Holland Christian will be Rolling out a new athletic online registration system. Holland Christian Schools is now partnered with FinalForms, an athlete online registration company. This email notification is for all parents of current students grades 5-11, but intended only for students interested in participating in any sport for the 2019-20 school year (grades 6-12… 6th graders are limited to participation in cross country, tennis, swimming & diving and track & field). We are excited about this new relationship with benefits for our athletes and families including a streamlined athletic physical process, more efficient communication and online pay to participate fee collection. Your family data is saved season-to-season and year-to-year… meaning you should never have to enter the same information twice!
April 15 is the first day students can complete the MHSAA required athletic physical for the 2019-20 school year in order to participate on a school athletic team. Our partnership with FinalForms requires you to register your child online for sports at Holland Christian in order to print the needed MHSAA physical form for your MD/DO/PA/NP to complete. With April 15 fast approaching, we want to ensure parents understand the new process for registering online before completing the annual MHSAA physical. If you already signed up for Holland Christian’s physical night on April 30 or plan to have your child’s athletic physical completed at your primary care physician before participation, please register your athlete online before doing so by following the instructions at the following link: https://www.hollandchristian.org/athletics/handbooks-forms/
Procedures and requirements such as these are important for our organization to run efficiently and safely. We hope your experience is streamlined after the initial learning curve of the new registration process. Thank you for your efforts to assist us in extending the classroom and put knowing God on display through athletics at Holland Christian.
