Rose Park News 5/31/19
Dear Rose Park Family and Friends,
I don’t know if it is that the older I get each year becomes a smaller slice of the overall pie of life, but it sure is true that I experience years more and more as the blink of an eye. We have experienced another blessed year together. We have celebrated highs together, and, as always, we have also shared burdens and supported each other as a school family this year. Through it all God has been so faithful and good. So, at the end of this school year we give him praise and thanks for his goodness, faithfulness, and presence that we have experienced as a school family. Indeed, he is a Good, Good Father, and a Faithful Shepherd. I have been so blessed to be your Principal at Rose Park again this year, and am grateful for each of you as members of this school community.
On a personal note, I will miss the staff, students, and families of Rose Park. Today has been bittersweet with lots of hugs and “I love you’s.” I am so expectant and confident of God’s continued blessing for next year already, for all of our personal transitions, as well as those for our school. Please join me in that expectation and prayer. But, before that, I want to wish you and your families a blessed, safe, and joy-filled summer vacation! May you experience many wonderful adventures, as well as those simple, lazy days of summer. We’ll see you again very soon, friends!
Now, at the end of this 2018-2019 school year, may you bless and be blessed this summer with your families in rest, recreation, and in hopeful, thankful, awe-filled worship. It remains our deepest privilege and blessing to partner with you, equipping young and eager minds, nurturing soft and tender hearts, to transform the world for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.Have a blessed summer!
I have two new staffing updates to share with you before we leave for the year.
- Mrs. Allison (Waterway) DeLange will join our preschool team and teach our 2 classes of 3’s. She is an HC and Calvin alum, has worked at Lakeshore Little People’s Place, and come to Rose Park with lots of energy, enthusiasm, and love for the 3-year olds she will be teaching.
- Mrs. Laura Smith will join Mr. Nieuwsma completing the 6th grade team for next year. She will be teaching language arts and social studies. Mrs. Smith comes to us as a Calvin alum, as well, with 6th grade experience at Grand Rapids Public Schools. She comes, too, with lots of energy, creativity, enthusiasm, and is excited to join our Rose Park team and meet her students.
So, we welcome both of these teachers to the Rose Park team. Both love God, students, and learning! I’m eager to see how God will use them as part of the Rose Park team that he is assembling for the next season of life here. Please join me in welcoming them when you see them in the new year!
