Rose Park News 1/11/19
Dear Rose Park Family and Friends,
Happy New Year, everyone! We have begun the new calendar year hitting the ground running with new learning and growth.
It is that time of year again, and we are eagerly planning and anticipating another exciting enrollment season with all of the events planned in our buildings very soon. Being a welcoming and enfolding community of hospitality is so vital not only at this time of year, but always at Holland Christian Schools. There needs to be intentionality and faithful commitment to really make connectedness palpable, people who are willing to step outside of their comfort zones and circles of friends to reach out and welcome and enfold new members to our community. (Did you know that we added a new family in 6th grade after Christmas vacation, by the way? Welcome!)
So, I’d like to ask you, have you introduced yourself to anyone you don’t know lately? To whom can you reach out to welcome and enfold at Rose Park? Whose name do you not know? Who needs more than a smile or “hello?” Act upon these Spirit-led inclinations to build relationships at Rose Park and we’ll see God’s blessing together!
Please pray for us and with us during this Discovery and enrollment season. Pray for God to bring even more families to Rose Park and Holland Christian Schools so that more students and more families might experience the power of partnership between church, home, and school in growing kingdom kids. Talk with your friends and acquaintances about Rose Park and Holland Christian Schools. Share your great stories. Invite them to our Discovery Night on January 24. You might even offer to accompany them to the Discovery Night. If anyone cannot make our Discovery Night, we love to arrange for personal tours anytime! Current Preschool families, please join us for Discovery Night, too, and be sure to ask your teachers or stop in the office if you have any questions regarding enrollment for next year. We deeply desire to continue our partnership with you!
Now, in that spirit, may you bless and be blessed this weekend in rest, recreation, and in awe-filled worship. This has been another growth, meaning and joy-filled week at Rose Park, the first of 2019, partnering with you and the rest of the staff, equipping young and eager minds, nurturing soft and tender hearts, to transform the world for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Parking Lot/Circle Drive Drop off/AM Shuttle Bus
Rose Park friends, I have an urgent request for everyone regarding using our parking lot, circle drive drop off, and AM shuttle bus. There are some particularly busy times of the morning, usually around 7:30, and then again after 8AM. Before vacation, and after a close call between cars and a couple of students crossing the drive to the shuttle bus, we instituted a new plan at 7:30 for all traffic at that time. Even with our new practice, it is impossible to totally separate pedestrians from cars whether in the driveway or parking lot. I do not have the resources for a parking lot attendant. Consequently, I implore every adult driver coming through Rose Park’s driveway and lot always to drive responsibly with the utmost of caution and awareness especially for pedestrians. Whether backing out of a parking spot, or driving through the lot or driveway, slow and cautious are always the watchwords. Here are a couple of additional reminders:
- Please click the link above to review our current practice which we will continue to review throughout the winter and spring.
- If you are transporting a student for the shuttle bus and you need to get to work on time, your students are always welcome to come inside the building after 7:20 and wait between the glass door entry, allowing you to head on your way to work. This will alleviate some of the congestion.
- 4th grade orchestra parents, please drop your orchestra students off at the designated spot on the linked document and picture.
- No one should park anywhere in the circle drive before 8:20AM.
- Please follow the linked plan even if the cones are not out for some reason.
- Thank you for your care and cooperation!
