Rose Park News Blog, 4/20/18

Dear Rose Park Family and Friends,

I received a wonderful email from a grandparent of some of our students late Tuesday evening after the program. Here is an excerpt:

Hi Rod,
I just want to send you a note on tonight’s program.
It was great👍👍👍
I am continually amazed at the level of commitment that you and your teachers have to the children (grandchildren) of Holland Christian.
It is evident that the kids are being taught the Christian values we would expect. And the excitement they show in these programs are evidence of the commitment of the staff at HC….

I was so grateful and glad to receive this email from a grandpa who once sat in front of me with his wife as a parents of their children who were my students in the high school Bible classes I taught. And now, I have the privilege of knowing them as grandparents of children at Rose Park who are the children of former students of mine. I am so grateful for God’s generational faithfulness.

This dear grandpa reflects the sentiments of so many parents and grandparents I have talked with since Tuesday night. Like all I have talked with, or the comments I have seen on Facebook, I was so blessed by our students’ testimony in word, song, and dance. What a special night. I often hear things like, “This is such a great reminder of what Christian education is all about.” I understand the feelings and thoughts behind such statements. You see, what happened last night does not occur in a vacuum. You can’t fake what we all experienced, saw, and heard. The praise, trust, exuberance, pushing beyond comfort zones, and unabashed worship comes out of staff and classrooms, faith-integrated lessons and units, buildings and a community where faith is nurtured and growth celebrated, where Jesus is at the center of all that we do and learn everyday, where awe before God, love, prayer, and praise are regular notes played throughout the music our days. I’m so glad we could share that together again on Tuesday night. It is part of the air we breath at Rose Park, and it can’t help but come out. Such a beautiful night of worship. We’ve been experiencing the wash and wake of God’s blessing all week. We hope you have, too.

Now, may you continue to be filled with faith, hope, love, and joy this weekend with your families in rest, recreation, and in awe-filled worship. This has been another growth, and meaning-filled week at Rose Park, partnering with you and the rest of the staff, equipping young and eager minds, nurturing soft and tender hearts, to transform the world for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
