Rose Park News Blog, 5/11/18

Dear Rose Park Family and Friends,

Where in the world do I begin describing all of the ways and places that we have experienced God this week at Rose Park during this Tulip Time week? Truly, there are too many to count. God has been present by his Spirit in every frame of this week in and outside of the classroom. I even believe we were able to transform the world for Jesus Christ in small and large ways during Thursday’s parade with lots of smiles, waves, and greetings. The kindness, joy, and love of our students was grace-breathing to all we met.

I am so looking forward to our end-of-year all HCS gathering next week Tuesday at 9AM at the high school. You may remember that we began the year in convocation all together, preschool-12th grade, and prayed, sang, and listened to God’s Word. We want to bookend our year with another celebration all together, again singing, praying, listening, and blessing. Come and join us; you are welcome at the high school gym, Tuesday, at 9AM. We will be blessed, again, I am expectant.

Now, may you continue to be filled with faith, hope, love, and joy this weekend with your families in rest, recreation, and in awe-filled worship. This has been another growth, and meaning-filled week at Rose Park, partnering with you and the rest of the staff, equipping young and eager minds, nurturing soft and tender hearts, to transform the world for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

 Green Commute Week

To celebrate Green Commute week, there is going to be a community wide school challenge on  May 15 and 16.  What is Green Commute?  This is a community event promoting alternative transportation, including: biking, walking, sharing a ride/carpooling, riding the bus or using public transportation.  Consider taking alternative transportation one or both of these days!  Make a bike train or start a carpool – get creative!  Let’s support Green Commute.

Educational Support Services Update

The 17-18 school year has brought many successes but also new challenges that have made us rethink our ESS structure. The support needs of our students have changed drastically in the past few years and we need to respond to this change. Through many conversations with staff (both ESS and Gen Ed,) parents, CLC Network and students, we have decided to dedicate one ESS teacher to Inclusive education and one ESS teacher to Resource support at all our campuses. Our ESS staff are committed to providing best practice through this change and we will provide a greater update at individualized PEP meetings (should you be attending one.)  If you do not have a scheduled PEP meeting under ESS but have some questions or concerns, please email Katie Clausing, Director of Educational Support Services at

Our Beloved Fish Tank!

Our Rose Park office fish tank is a HUGE hit with our kids and visitors!  We are thankful for a great source of entertainment and conversation!  However, it is VERY dirty.  It is in desperate need of some TLC.  We are looking for a helper to tend to our tank.  Do you have knowledge of how to clean fish tanks?  If so, we would greatly appreciate it.  Please contact Carla or Diane in the office if you are interested.  Thank you!
