Rose Park June Newsletter
Recently I participated in a devotional that provided an image which captured well the journey this year has been. Long ago, on the plains, wise farmers would tie a red rope from the door of their home to their barn. When the winter winds blew and blizzards kicked up snowy chaos, the well-prepared farmer would grip that red rope, lean into the wind and step-by-step make the way safely to the barn. Rather than becoming disoriented and lost in the winter winds and blinded by the power of the snow, the farmer was able to consistently and safely reach the barn.
This image reminds me a bit of this school year. Deuteronomy 6:13 sets forth our red rope, “Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.” Step-by-step. Day-by-day. Together we have entrusted the year to God and served Him. Winds have certainly blown. Directions have pushed hard against us. But God has faithfully guided our community through this school year. Praise God for his abiding presence and faithfulness. We have given our best to shield our children from the swirling winds and brought them safely to the close of this school year.
Thank you, friends, for your grace, support, flexibility, trust and love. Your dear child leaves an imprint on our hearts and has shaped us as much as we pray we have shaped them.
All joy and peace to you this summer. We look forward to seeing you again soon,

Paso a paso. Día a día.
Esperamos volver a verte pronto.
A note from Mrs. Throop
Dear Holland Christian families,
I am writing to say goodbye and thank you for 12 wonderful years of being your elementary school counselor. My family is moving in June to St. Augustine, FL.
Christian counseling is a blessing for our children and I hope and pray that you always provide it for our young boys and girls. I will keep our HC community in my heart forever, and be eager to hear more good news from all of you. Please know that I have loved your children and my responsibility to help guide and nurture them. Until we meet again.
With Christ’s love,
Health Appraisal and Immunization Requirements
Ottawa County Health Department will not be providing hearing and vision screening for our students this year. Increased COVID responsibilities have limited the capacity for technicians to provide this service.
Health appraisals are required for our 2021-22 incoming preschool and kindergarten students. As you schedule your well child appointments with your health care provider, please be aware these evaluations will need to be completed. All students must be up to date on their immunizations BEFORE they start the new school year. Any students without the required immunizations or approved waivers will not be allowed to begin school until they are complete and approved by the State of Michigan. We are grateful for your help with this!
Parents, grandparents, students. . . .THANK YOU for blessing our teachers during teacher appreciation week. Our teachers were showered with notes, pictures, candy, gift cards. You love them so well! We are grateftul for your expressions of gratitude!
