FS/SS/PR Newsletter-February 8
Between South Side and Pine Ridge we are in the midst of Makers Week. The energy and excitement for learning and collaboration is running on high octane during these weeks! I hope the South Siders came home with many great stories showcasing student innovation and design thinking. Pine Ridge parents, be sure to ask about your child’s project each day next week. We remind our students that our God is a creative God. We see God’s handiwork all around us. When we are first introduced to God in the Bible, we read about the majesty and beauty of our Creator. As one created in God’s image, we too find joy in reflecting God in our own handiwork and designs. Take a peek at just a small slice of our learning and making this week.
Open enrollment began this week for K students. We are excited to watch the classes for this fall begin to form and fill in. We would like to clarify a question that has surfaced. If your student(s) are currently enrolled with Holland Christian, there is no need to re-enroll the same student moving forward. Think of it like a one-and-done process. However, you will need to enroll students beginning Kindergarten, since their enrollment from preschool does not carry over to the K-12 enrollment process.
Next week Tuesday, February 12, at 7:00 A. M. preschool enrollment begins. You will need to re-enroll your child as he/she moves through the the preschool program.

Preparing A Table
As you know, our school theme this year is Preparing A Table. We are working each day in different ways to understand what it means to both prepare a table to invite others to as well as to be invited to a table prepared for us. This year, on April 23, our preschool through fourth grade will prepare a spring program for your family. Mrs. Boer would like to play a video of pictures and clips of our families preparing a table for others in their homes. If you invite others to break bread at your table, would you be willing to take and share a picture or clip for the montage she would like to put together for the program? Please send your picture or clip to Mrs Boer’s email at email@example.com Thank you!

Circle Drive Safety
We know all too well how rushed the morning & end of day can be with today’s busy schedules. We would like to ask you to remember to please watch your speed as you enter and leave the crescent drive in the front of school. For the safety of everyone as well as students walking to school from the neighborhood we never know when someone could pop out and in front of a car. Thank you for being mindful and keeping our little ones safe.
We are asking for your help with one more noon recess supervision need. This is for Wednesday, February 27.
If you be willing to help fill this gap please check your calendars to help us from 11:45-12:30? If you have signed up to do classroom lunch supervision for your child’s teacher and could stay the extra time, we could work that out. Please contact Mrs. Rynsburger at firstname.lastname@example.org or Mrs. Meiste email@example.com for details.
