Joy To The World

Fun fact: Did you know that “Joy to the World” was not originally written to be a Christmas carol? I’m not kidding! One of the classics! A staple at Christmas time! Not meant to be sung and played specifically at this most joyous time of the year?! I don’t know about you but that fact surprised me. Actually, the truth written about in the song “Joy to the World” is derived from Psalm 98:

“Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations.”

This IS truth that belongs to be proclaimed and celebrated all year long. In every season. In every condition. Under all circumstances. This is joy-filled truth! Christ has come and made his salvation known for ALL of the world. Ours is to shout for joy to the Lord with all of the earth. As you celebrate the entrance of Christ into our human condition as the prophets foretold, may you radiate with His joy this season and hold firm throughout the year! Merry Christmas to you and yours and happiness in Him in the new year!

Working together to share food for friends nearby who have less to eat over Christmas break. We are learning the gospel calls us to share Christ in our words and in our actions.

We learn that children around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus. Jesus came to love and save ALL of God’s children!

Learning to try yummy new treats!

Thank you to our community!

We have had a month full of beautiful celebrations! None of this would be possible without the creativity, time, resources and efforts of SO many parents and grandparents working hard behind the scenes, chaperoning field trips, planning parties and praying diligently. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!

Preparing A Table

As you know, our school theme this year is Preparing A Table. We are working each day in different ways to understand what it means to both prepare a table to invite others to as well as to be invited to a table prepared for us. This year, on April 23, our preschool through fourth grade will prepare a spring program for your family. Mrs. Boer would like to play a video of pictures and clips of our families preparing a table for others in their homes. If you invite others to break bread at your table, would you be willing to take and share a picture or clip for the montage she would like to put together for the program? Please send your picture or clip to Mrs Boer’s email at sboer@hollandchristian.org Thank you!
